I’m John Turner MAAT, the business owner. My wife, Loredana (Lori) is company secretary and provides certain administration support. I specialise in working for small businesses. Specifically this includes dealing with the tax and accountancy affairs of Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
The company is a limited company, but has traded since July 2005 as Kingsland Accountancy. I normally operate within a twenty mile radius of Hitchin. Although I prefer to have face to face contact with clients I have acted for clients in Cornwall and Australia. I enjoy working from home, which helps keep down costs. I try to operate the company on the basis of what I would want, as a client. I aim to provide a clear, non- stuffy, jargon free service. I offer appointments outside office hours and weekends. First interviews are normally free. I offer home visits.
The company operates as a one stop shop, providing accountancy, tax, enhanced financial services, limited company administration and fee protection insurance, services. I have acted for a wide range of clients from a well- known actress, Cambridge University lecturers, a film director, IT companies, a security company, garages, trades etc. etc. I particularly like trades and limited companies.
I believe that offering good bookkeeping advice is essential for keeping down fees. I will take ‘steps’ to ensure that we design together a bespoke method for your business. This is primarily designed around what you the client are comfortable with, not around the accountant.
If you looking for a more personal approach, rather than just an accounts production factory, let’s have a conversation.
ASSOCIATION OF ACCOUNTING TECHNICIANS
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia
‘The Association of Accounting Technicians, or AAT, is a UK (degree level) qualification and a professional body for vocational accountants, with over 133,000 members worldwide. It was created by the merger of two founding institutes in 1980: the Institute of Accounting Staff (then a subsidiary of ACCA) and the Association of Technicians in FINANCE and Accounting (then a subsidiary of CIPFA). It is a technician level qualification offering higher apprenticeships which entitles those who have completed the exams and obtained relevant supervised work experience to become an accountant. The AAT is based in London, but has branches with membership all over the UK and the rest of the world including Hong Kong and South Africa.
The body is sponsored by four UK chartered accountancy bodies; CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA and ICAS’
(A qualified member of the Association of Accounting Technicians is known as a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians : M.A.A.T.)
